Farewell Year 1

Today we had lots of fun playing with our toys, eating biscuits and digging up our vegetable plot.

Have a fantastic summer holiday everyone and a big thank you for all my wonderful cards and presents.
Love Mrs Warner xxxx

Year one's got talent

We had a fantastic afternoon showcasing our wonderful talents. We had singing, baton twirling, feather balancing, gymnastics, dancing, skipping skills, poetry and jokes.
All the children worked really hard and I was very proud of all the class.

Well done everyone!!

The Snail

Year 1 found out about the artist Henri Matisse. We looked at his famous piece of work called The Snail.
Looking at our class pets, Moby, Lola and the 4 baby Giant African Land Snails, they created observational drawings and "cut outs" in the style of The Snail.

Danny the champion of the world

Last half term we read the popular story Danny the champion of the world. We enjoyed it so much I bought the movie version of the story.

Today we started to watch the film and will finish watching it next week.

Did Danny look like you expected him to?

Do you think Mr Victor Hazel is a kind character?

Compare the book and the film, what is the same and what is different?

Which do you prefer? The book or the film?
